But he was a man

Albert Namatjira, the Aranda water colourist (from Hermannsburg - west of Alice) has always been in my top ten list of Aussie heroes. Considering the condescending way his genius was treated he remained a remarkably gentle man. I am not afraid to say I'm deeply sorry. I wish we could turn back the clock. There should be a statue of Albert in Alice Springs.
