The photo above features John Williamson with his friend John Laws in 1976, when a lot of the songs off "Old Man Emu" were first recorded.

Receiving Another Award! This time it was for Boomerang Cafe in 1988 which won Gold Guitars for Album of the Year and Biggest Selling Album.

At Government House John received an "Advance Australia Award" in 1990.

John in Austria where he was invited to take part in an international festival in 1995. The European membership of John's 'fan club' has been steadily growing over the last few years.

1970, after winning "New Faces" and a National No. 1 Hit for five weeks - John thought everything would be easy from now on. Now John says .."little did I know!"

It was the early 70's ... a high point in hairstyles and clothing !?

John spent a lot of time travelling and generally honing his entertainment skills whilst performing his hit "Old Man Emu".

Travelin' Out West was a country TV show hosted by John in 1973. It was shown on 30 channels nationally, and ran for two years. The regular line-up included Ricky and Tammy, Emma Hannah & John.

Since it probably won't happen again in the near future - we had to throw in the photo of John wearing a bow - tie.

No family album is complete without a picture of the dog! In 1990, John released his "Family Album" which won a Gold Guitar for biggest selling album.

In 1980 John designed an "aussie" backdrop and was dismayed by the dominance of the Union Jack which he considered a colonial ensign, not really Australian at all. From this time on John was determined to maintain and strengthen his "Australian-ness".
