"The poor old Dingo, our only native dog, has been hunted down and persecuted ever since white man came to Australia. Although it is believed to have been introduced from Asia, approximately four thousand years ago, it has been recognised recently as playing a part in the balance of nature. Especially now that rabbits, goats, foxes etc are a part of our wildlife's demise.
A pure dingo is quite a magnificent dog, extremely athletic and agile. There is dingo blood in the two main Australians breeds; Kelpie and Blue Heeler. In fact the white tip on the end of a Heeler's tail is from the dingo.
I was in our shack in the mountains in Queensland one day when this beautiful golden dingo walked down our driveway. His white coat was magnificent. He came quite close as I watched through the kitchen window. I poked my head out the door and with two bounds he was gone. A most beautiful specimen."
